Peak Hill National Events
As a small town in New South Wales, Australia, Peak Hill may not be widely known for its annual events, but there are still many occasions that people come together to celebrate throughout the year. From cultural festivals to agricultural shows, there is always something happening in and around Peak Hill.
One of the most popular events in the region is the Parkes Elvis Festival, which takes place each year in early January, just a short drive from Peak Hill. This internationally recognised festival celebrates the life and legacy of Elvis Presley, featuring costumes, music, and dance performances, and attracting visitors from all over the world. In addition to the main events, there are also many fringe activities, such as art exhibitions, market stalls, and themed dinner parties.
Another major festival in the region is the Wiradjuri Condobolin Corporation's Karijini Aboriginal Cultural Festival, which is held in late February each year. This festival features a range of cultural performances, including dance, song, and storytelling, as well as workshops on traditional art and crafts. The festival aims to promote the rich cultural heritage of the Wiradjuri people, who are the traditional custodians of the land in the Peak Hill region.
In March, the town of Parkes hosts the Skyfest Air Show, which is a thrilling event for aviation enthusiasts. The show features aerial displays from a range of different aircraft, as well as ground displays, food stalls, and other amusements. The agricultural show season in the region kicks off in April each year, with the Peak Hill Annual Show. There are also plenty of rides and amusements for kids, as well as food stalls, market stalls, and live music.
